Ghouls Rule!

For this project, I revisited my childhood to find inspiration in Monster High. I wanted to imagine what the show’s iconic characters would look like today, evolved for the modern world. By infusing the 'essence' of the monsters with the hyper-hippie and indie-eclectic trends of 2020, I created a collection that bridges the gap between childhood nostalgia and the bold, high-energy fashion of today.

"Agora Hills” by Doja Cat has tremendously inspired me, from the styling of the outfits, hair, and makeup to the set design. Everything complements each other perfectly. I’m someone who pays close attention to little details, and I love how this video exhibits such cohesiveness in its details. As a hopeless romantic, this song perfectly encapsulates how I want to interact with my partner; I want to proudly showcase them to the world because I find them so perfect. During my research for my mini collection, I was feeling deeply romantic with a hint of sass and sweetness. The silhouettes reminded me of the coquette core trend that was highly popular in 2023, as well as the Victorian era, characterized by large and round silhouettes with attention to details such as ruffles, bows, and unique buttons placed intricately. This collection truly reflects who I am at this moment. I feel proud and connected to my feminine energy; I desire love, to feel loved, and to give love. “Agora Hills” allows me to experience all of that, while also embracing the sweet, cute, lovable, sultry, and flirty aspects of myself.
