Hello, my name is Noor Turk, and I am 23 years old. I am of Palestinian origin but was born in Arizona, United States. I spent nine years living in the United Arab Emirates before moving to Düsseldorf, Germany to pursue my bachelor's degree in Fashion Design at the Fashion Design Institute (FDI).
During my studies, I had the privilege of completing a four-month internship in London with the independent fashion brand FEBEN, which provided me with valuable industry experience. Currently, I am based in Florence, Italy, where I recently completed my master's degree in Fashion Business at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED). This program taught me how business operates from a brand's perspective, how to market products to the target consumer group, and how to build an authentic connection and sense of community rooted in a brand's DNA. I felt pursuing this master's degree was a crucial complement to my design background, as I wanted to explore the industry through different lenses and thoroughly understand the consumer's point of view.
Presently, I am working for a small independent brand in Florence named Labi. In this role, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how to elevate emerging brands within the community and learn exactly what it takes to run an independent business from scratch.
My passion for fashion began in childhood when my sister and I would create elaborate storylines for our Barbie dolls. I often found myself wanting to bring these stories to life through clothing; when I couldn’t find the right outfits, I improvised using tissues, tape, and cut-out drawings of garments to complete my vision. As I grew older, I continued experimenting with different fabrics and textures, always asking myself, "How do I feel today?" and dressing accordingly. Fashion has always been my ultimate form of self-expression, and I look forward to discovering even more about myself through my ongoing experiences in the fashion industry.
